Karina was born in Texas to a Puerto Rican mother and an Oklahoman father. She is a proud member of InViolet Theater Company. Her first solo film project Marigold was an official selection at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival. She is also the co-artistic director of Proximity Theater Company and has written and performed in several Proximity productions. Her short pieces include Kathy Acker’s Ghost, Jane’s Birthday, Dylan’s Encounter, Let Her Lie, Sally’s Sweet Sixteen, and Million Maya (published on Indie Theater Now). Karina received a BFA in Theatre from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a Mary Louise Rockwell Scholarship recipient at ESPA at Primary Stages.
